Depending on the instructor the level of each workshop is different.
For workshops by Fotini Kardakou & Marianna Varviani we welcome all movers that are comfortable in using their body to dance in different levels, dynamics and speeds. Our workshops will adjust to your level. A basic relationship with your body and dance is suggested as the materials shared will not be so easy for complete beginners.
For workshops by Maky Grochain and Bruno Catalano intermediate to advanced dancers are encouraged to attend.
At the old school of Gialiskari village, a tent with a dance floor is set looking at the Aegean/Mediterranean Sea.
You can reach Ikaria by boat (to Evdilos or Agios Kyrikos Port) from Piraeus, Thessaloniki, Samos and other Cyclades Islands. Or by airplane, with a flight from Athens, Thessaloniki, Heraklion, Lemnos.
Whether you organize your Accommodation through the festival or not, we suggest you stay in local rooms in the village of Gialiskari which is next to the festival area. Gialiskari is located next to the beach, has a variety of restaurants, grocery store, pharmacy, bakery, cafes and bars.
If you are on a budget there is also an organized camping ground about 10 minutes drive.
Ikaria unfortunately doesn’t have good public transport. If you want to explore the island we recommend you bring a vehicle or rent one from the island. To rent a vehicle you mush show your valid license. Hitch hiking is a common practice at the island as well, if you are patient.
Ikaria has both a health center in Evdilos which is located 12 km away from Gialiskari. It also has a hospital, 40 km away in Agios Kirykos.
